The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs welcome back Corey Thompson to the Magic City as the head coach for the 2020 Expedition League season.

Coach Thompson, a native of Lakeland, Florida, led the Sabre Dogs to a 78-51 regular season record and two playoffs appearances over the last two season.

“Coming back for a third season is very exciting, the community has supported us from day one,” Thompson said. “We have some unfinished business to take care of and look forward to doing so in 2020.”

During the Sabre Dogs’ offseason, Thompson is the pitching coach for Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where he assists in the recruiting process at Spring Hill as well.

Souris Valley Sabre Dogs management also is thrilled by the fact the Coach Thompson is coming back.

“We’re happy to welcome Corey back for another season of exciting Sabre Dogs baseball,” general manager Darrell Handelsman said. “He does a great job recruiting quality players and people. His aggressive style and players first approach have provided great memories for our fans.”
