The 2019-20 regular season has begun in the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL). Junior C level games in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) begun Sept. 11 with just one game on the schedule.
The Hespeler Shamrocks were defeated by the Glanbrook Rangers 8-3 that night, which kicked off the PJHL season. Since then, 42 games have been played in the 62 team league.
In 2019-20, 62 teams will compete in eight divisions in the PJHL. Those eight divisions are the Tod Division (East), Orr Division (East), Carruthers Division (North), Pollock Division (North), Stobbs Division (West), Yeck Division (West), Doherty Division (South) and Bloomfield Division (South). There is one team on a leave of absence in the PJHL and that’s the Yeck Division’s Lambeth Lancers. Lambeth placed third in Yeck Division standings in the 2018-19.
Not every PJHL team has played a regular season game just yet, but that will change this week (Sept. 16-22) as there are 57 games scheduled.
Division leaders through the first week of PJHL action are as follows:
Tod Division - Little Britain Merchants (1-0-0-0) 2 PTS
