The Expedition League has wrapped up the 2019 season, and it was a season to remember. There were many highlights throughout the season, including a new champion, two new teams making their league debuts, and many records being set. Here is a rundown of the highlights throughout the 2019 Expedition League season:
May 24th: The Fremont Moo play their first game in franchise history against the Hastings Sodbusters in Hastings, Nebraska. The Sodbusters won 2-0.
May 25th: The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks play their first game in franchise history. They defeat the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs 6-4 in Minot, North Dakota.
June 27th: The Badlands Big Sticks and Western Nebraska Pioneers win the first half in their respective divisions, and clinch playoff spots.
July 4th: Casper Horseheads set Expedition League attendance record with 1,839 fans in attendance to watch them take on the Badlands Big Sticks.
July 5th: Souris Valley Sabre Dogs hurler Bradley Spooner throws first no-hitter in Expedition League history in a win over the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks.
July 10th: Pierre Trappers third baseman Zane Phelps hits for the fourth cycle in Expedition League history in a Trappers win over the Western Nebraska Pioneers. It is the third cycle in Trappers history.
July 15th: Spearfish Sasquatch outfielder Z Westley won the 2019 Home Run Derby in Minot, North Dakota.
July 16th: The Lewis Division All-Stars defeated the Clark Division All-Stars in the Expedition League All-Star Game in Minot, North Dakota. Western Nebraska Pioneers shortstop Zack Peterson wins the game's Most Valuable Player award after hitting two home runs.
July 23rd: Pierre Trappers pitcher Tyler McDonald sets Expedition League record by striking out 16 batters in a win over the Hub City Hotshots.
August 2nd: The Fremont Moo clinch a playoff spot in their first season of Expedition League play.
August 2nd: The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs clinch their second playoff berth in franchise history.
August 7th: The Western Nebraska Pioneers advance to the League Championship Series after defeating the Fremont Moo 16-0.
August 7th: The Badlands Big Sticks advance to the League Championship Series after defeating the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs 11-1.
August 11th: The Badlands Big Sticks win the Expedition League Championship two games to one with a 6-5 victory over the Western Nebraska Pioneers.
