The Western Michigan Stallions and Chris Brassard are excited to announce the 2019-2020 Division 1 Schedule. The Stallions finished 20th in the final 2019 ACHA rankings and will play at least 12 games against teams who finished last season ranked in the Top 25.
The Stallions will open their season on September 27th with a series against a new Division 1 team in Northern Illinois, followed by a home and home series with 5th ranked Adrian College on October 3rd and 5th. WMU will then travel for the first time to Colorado and take on 23rd ranked Colorado State University.
The month of October won’t get any easier as the Stallions will host Illinois State University on the 18th and 19th. The Redbirds were in and out of the Top 25 last season, and WMU swept the 2018-2019 season series.
Western will travel to 25th ranked Kent State University to round out October, followed by a home and home series with the University of Toledo.
The Stallions will then travel to play another highly ranked team, as they will head to Arizona to play the 10th ranked Arizona Wildcats on November 15th and 16th. They will round out the first semester schedule with a home and home series with both Davenport and Eastern Michigan in December, before going on their holiday break.
Western will start the second semester with a trip to Illinois State University, before hosting Davenport and traveling to Calvin for single games. Next, the Stallions will play another new D1 program in Waldorf University, before taking on Davenport one final time on January 28th.
The Stallions will finish January and open February with a home and home series against Oakland University, before two more home and home series with Calvin College and Eastern Michigan University. Finally, WMU will take on Indiana Tech for the I-69 Rivalry Cup, which the Stallions took last year winning the series with 5-2 and 1-0 victories.
