ELKVILLE, IL - The Quincy Gems slugger Tyler Clark-Chiapparelli, is leading the Prospect League with 12 home runs, hitting a four-bagger at a pace of every 12.8 at-bats, this season.

Clark-Chiapparelli, 21-year-old, 6'2", 185-pound infielder-pitcher from Austin Texas and a redshirt freshman at McCook Community College, is demonstrating the rare combination in today's game of hitting for average and power, hitting a remarkable .370, (57-for-154), while leading the league with 12 homers this season, in addition to 13 doubles and a triple, while stealing 15 bases in 19 attempts. Tyler's 44.509 runs created stat this season is the second highest mark in the league, as he makes his case for an All-Star team nod and the potential Prospect League Most Valuable Player Award.

On the mound for the Gems, in 12 games including one start, the talented, athletic, Austin native has posted a 3-2 won-loss record with a save and a 5.12 ERA, while striking out 33 batters in 26.1 innings pitched.

This past season, at McCook Community College Tyler, appeared in 12 games as a pitcher as well as playing third base and outfield for the Indians. On the mound, he went 3-2 with two saves and a 3.23 ERA. He struck out 50 hitters in 53 innings of work. As a hitter, he batted .270 in 152 at-bats with 14 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 28 runs batted in while stealing 17 bases, the fifth most in Region IX. He also ranked in the top 10 in doubles, triples, home runs, total bases and slugging, drawing the attention of several Division I offers.
