For the second game in a row, the Big Sticks got on the board early at Hyde Stadium.

Two batters in, Michael Furhman hit a solo bomb, the fourth of the series for Badlands to put the Big Sticks up 1-0.

After that, however, starter Seth Brewer settled down in a big way. The righty struck out seven in four and a third innings on the bump.

Pierre leveled things in the bottom of the third frame thanks to an RBI flyout by Michael Herrera that nearly cleared the fence. This scored Max Modeste, who doubled to start the inning.

But Badlands would not be denied. In the fifth, two runs would cross home, when Zane Phelps muffed a grounder at third base. This scored a pair, and the Big Sticks had a 4-1 edge after five.

Both defenses would stand tall until the eighth, when another Badlands big fly by Dylan Ditzenberger cleared the wall and put the Big Sticks in front by four runs, 5-1. It was the fifth homer of the series for the visitors.

Pierre got one in the eighth to make it 5-2 on a solo home run by second baseman Alex Gonzales, and then rallied in the ninth.

With two outs, Modeste lined a single into right for yet another RBI, his second in as many days, and the score was narrowed to 5-3. Johnny Pacheco then walked, bringing the winning run to the plate in Niko Piazza. However, Piazza would ground out to end the game.
