One day after their major blockbuster trade with Maple Ridge and a front office shakeup, the Coquitlam Adanacs stunned the Langley Thunder at the Langley Events Centre Wednesday night by a score of 10-7. The Adanacs went on to score five unanswered goals, with four of them coming in the third period. With the win, Coquitlam has won two of their last three games and are two points back from a playoff spot.

The Thunder came into Wednesday taking down the Adanacs 12-8 on Saturday night so this loss will surely be a disappointment. Dane Dobbie had a goal and two assists on seven shots for Langley while Cody Adamson scored two goals, his first multi-goal performance of the season. Steve Fryer made 46 saves on 54 shots for the Thunder and is 2-3 with a 9.13 GAA for Langley.

First-star of the night Matt Symes had 2 goals and 3 assists, his highest single-game point total this season. It was another great evening for Matt Delmonico, who had another 5 point night for the Adanacs. Delmonico is fourth in the league in points with 29 after Wednesday’s win and currently leads the league in assists with 19. With no Christian Del Bianco, the Adanacs leaned on Andrew Gallant to protect the crease and he was up for the challenge, making 38 saves for Coquitlam. This was Gallant’s first win since June 30, 2018, when Coquitlam beat Victoria 13-10.

Coquitlam’s Next Game: 6/21 @ Victoria 7:00 PM
