Date:  Source: Badlands Big Sticks

The Big Sticks went three up, three down in the bottom of the first inning. This snapped their three game streak of batting through the order in the first inning. In the top of the second, Myles Harris hit a solo home run after working his way up to a 3-0 count giving the Whiskey Jacks the first run of the game. Up by one run early in this contest, the Whiskey Jacks were able to keep the Big Sticks scoreless in the bottom of the second inning despite giving up two walks and advancing baserunner Ryan Walstad on a wild pitch.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Whiskey Jacks hit their second home run of the night. This blast scored two runs for the Whiskey Jacks when Austin Trahan put the ball over the left field fence putting the Whiskey Jacks up 3-0.

After going three up, three down again in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Big Sticks found their offensive momentum in the bottom of the sixth inning. Walstad hit a lead off single and would then be brought home when Anthony Tulimero hit an RBI double in the next at bat. With Bryson Ford at bat, the Whiskey Jacks' relief pitcher Matt Duley threw a wild pitch scoring Tulimero. Ford would then hit a triple later in his at bat. Down one run with Ford on third base, Garrett Dupuis hit an RBI single tying up the game. However, despite the momentum, the Big Sticks failed to take the lead when Dupuis was caught stealing second and both Kaimana Souza Paaluhi and Mason Schwellenbach hit routine pop flies to keep the game tied at 3-3.

Nathan Sanders was walked with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and proceeded to get to third base due to an error by the Whiskey Jacks. With Sanders in scoring position, Walstad hit a sacrifice fly to right field allowing Sanders to tag up and give the Big Sticks their first lead of the night. A lead that they would carry for the remainder of the game.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Big Sticks were retired when the Whiskey Jacks had the defensive play of the night and forced a strike out-throw out double play. However, the Whiskey Jacks scored no runs in the top of the ninth inning giving the Big Sticks their fifth consecutive victory.

The Big Sticks will host the Fremont Moo on June 17th. This game will be played at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark with the first pitch being thrown at 6:35 PM (MDT).
