MIDHURST, ON - Eight to go.

The Barrie Baycats defeated the Burlington Herd 9-2 on Sunday evening win their best-of-five quarter-final series 3-0.

Baycats starter Santos Arias recorded the victory, tossing eight and one-third of an inning while giving up one earned run on twelve hits and one base on balls, while striking out ten batters along the way.

Baycats second basemen Kevin Atkinson led the way at the plate, going two-for-three with one run batted in.

Herd starter Casey Howard took the loss, tossing four innings while giving up six earned runs on seven hits and one base on balls, while striking out one batter along the way.

BARRIE - 9-9-1

Game one of the semi-final series against the Hamilton Cardinals takes place Thursday evening from Coates Stadium in Midhurst.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
