HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of first baseman and designated hitter Mike Cecchetto. Mike joins the Cards after graduating from the High Park Junior baseball program. Last summer he hit .375 (37-99) with seven home runs and thirty-four RBI. In brief appearances with the Toronto Mapleafs, IBL, Mike is 3-for-15 with two home runs and five RBI.

"We feel Mike is ready to make the jump to the IBL from junior ball, and all he needs is an opportunity. He is a big kid who brings power to the lineup and is a very dedicated teammate and hard working player. We look forward to seeing what Mike can do in a full season of IBL ball." stated GM Jeff Lounsbury

The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario’s most elite baseball league, The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
