St. Kitts throws complete game as Baycats put Herd on the verge of elimination

BURLINGTON, ON - Nine to go.

 

The Barrie Baycats defeated the Burlington Herd 6-1 on Saturday evening to take a 2-0 series lead in their best-of-five quarter-final series.

 

Baycats starter Matthew St. Kitts recorded the victory, tossing a complete game performance while giving up one earned run on five hits and one base on balls, while striking out ten batters along the way.

 

Baycats left fielder Jeff Cowan led the way at the plate, going three-for-four.

 

Herd starter Adam Prashad took the loss, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs on four hits and three base on balls, while striking out one batter along the way.

 

BARRIE - 6-7-0

 

BURLINGTON - 1-5-2

 

Game three of this quarter-final series takes place tomorrow evening in Midhurst. 

 

First pitch is set for 7:00 pm.

 

The Baycats can advance to the semi-finals with a victory.
