NORTH PITTSBURGH WILDCATS - LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY

Wildcats - Learn to Play Hockey

Interested in learning how to play ice hockey?  Look no further.  The North Pittsburgh Youth Hockey Association offers a wonderful hockey development program called Wildcats - Learn To Play Hockey.  The program was previously known as North Pittsburgh HDP (Hockey Development Program).

Depending on the availability of ice time, the program may meet once or twice per week.  North Pittsburgh may split the program into a beginner class and an intermediate class if we have a high number of registered participants.  If multiple classes are offered, North Pittsburgh will place attendees into either the beginner session or intermediate session based on skill level and experience.  This allows for each player to get more one-on-one instruction that better suits their individual skill set.

Jim Black of Next Step Hockey will be leading the on-ice activities.

Sessions are held year-round in the fall, winter, spring, and summer.

Coach Black and his associates from Next Step Hockey will be evaluating each player at the beginning of the session to confirm that each player is placed in the proper session.  During the session, Coach Black may move players if he feels that they may be better served in a higher or lower level.

It is recommended that a player participate in the Little Wildcats program for at least one year - 4 sessions prior to moving up to the next level of play.
