HAMILTON – Chris Boatto needed just 71 pitches in a complete-game six-hitter as the Burlington Herd beat the Hamilton Cardinals 4-1 Monday night at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.

Boatto (2-4) struck out six and didn't walk a batter. His only blemish was Chris Beer's solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. 

Offensively, Justin Gideon went 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base. Reese O'Farrell drove in a pair, and Mattingly Romanin added a one-out RBI double in the ninth inning. 

For Hamilton, Beer and Connor Bowie each had two hits. 

Zackary Gonzalez (4-5) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits with five walks and two strikeouts. 

Burlington improved to 12-22, and Hamilton fell to 14-20.
