Majors' offence, pitching sinks Royals

LONDON – Cleveland Brownlee and Michael Ambrose homered, while Owen Boon struck out 10 through eight innings to lead the London Majors to an 11-2 win over the Guelph Royals Wednesday night at Labatt Park.

Brownlee also singled and drove in three runs. The Majors' all-time regular season home run leader has gone deep in four straight games.

Ambrose finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs, Evan Britt went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run, RJ Fuhr doubled, tripled and scored twice, Chris McQueen had two hits and an RBI, Keith Kandel singled, scored and drove in a run, Byron Reichstein had four runs, and Kyle Gormandy picked up an RBI.

Boon (1-0) scattered three hits and allowed two runs and walked one.

London improved to 15-8.

Sean Reilly and Justin Interisano each hit solo home runs for the Royals, who dropped to 8-17.

Edwin Javier (4-5) took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He walked two and struck out eight.
