CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints (8-2), presented by Adena Health System, ran their win streak to a league-long six games Sunday night with a 12-4 win over the Champion City Kings (3-4) in front of 2,341 at VA Memorial Stadium.

Dallas Hall snapped a personal 0-for-16 start to his season with a 3 for 4, three RBI night, beginning with a solo home run on the first pitch of the bottom of the second inning to start the scoring and put the Paints on top first at 1-0.

With runs in the top of the second and third, Champion City took a brief lead at 2-1 before Chillicothe went back to work offensively in the bottom of the third.

Following a leadoff walk by Hall and a flyout, Chad Roberts hit his first home run of the season over the right-field wall, a two-run shot that put the Paints back in front 3-2. Back-to-back two-out walks to Michael Ryan and Connor Klemann set the table for Gama Martinez, who followed with a two-run triple to center field to make it 5-2 Chillicothe.

The Kings battled to cut the Paints' lead to one at 5-4 with runs in the fifth and seventh. They had the tying run in scoring position in the top of the eighth, but the Paints' Michael Jacob came out of the bullpen and struck out the first batter he faced and induced a groundout to end the threat.

The Paints blew the game open in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Ryan scored on a passed ball to give Chillicothe some breathing room at 6-4. Hall then singled to center field to score Klemann and Trace Hatfield, making it 8-4. Drew DeVine was hit by a pitch and Roberts walked to reload the bases. Andrew Czech then extended his hit streak and consecutive games on-base streak to 6 and 9, respectively, with a two-run double to left to put Chillicothe up 10-4. Ryan then hit a ball back to the pitcher, who made a throwing error that allowed Roberts and Czech to cross the plate and finish the scoring at 12-4.

Chris Modrzynski (1-0) started for Chillicothe and earned the win with a seven-inning outing. The left-hander from Western Michigan University allowed just four runs, three earned, on four hits and struck out five.

Eric Demchuk recorded the first out of the eighth before Jacob came in to earn his first save after 1 2/3 innings of work.

The Paints now head to Butler, Pa., for a two-game series with the BlueSox Monday and Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. both nights at Kelly Automotive Park. Chillicothe will return home Thursday night to host Champion City at 7:05 p.m. at VA Memorial Stadium.
