CAMBRIDGE - The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced today that Kitchener infielder Keegan Marsden and right-handed starter Yonder Martinez have been named the League’s Batter and Pitcher of the Week for the period from May 14-20.
KEEGAN MARSDEN, Kitchener Panthers – IBL BATTER OF THE WEEK
The IBL’s RBI leader so far in 2018 has been Keegan Marsden, and he didn’t slow down this week as the Panthers fight to stay on top of the IBL standings. Over the past seven days Marsden recorded two doubles, two home runs and lead the Panthers to two wins. His best performance came in a 10-6 win over the London Majors where he recorded four hits, two doubles a home run and six RBI.
Keegan is in his second season with the Kitchener Panthers after spending his Junior season at Goldey-Beacom College.
JONDER MARTINEZ, Kitchener Panthers – IBL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Kitchener’s Jonder Martinez pitched seven shutout innings giving up only three hits while striking out six and walking no one. A stellar first performance for Jonder pitching at Jack Couch Park and now holding down a 0.00 ERA to start the season.
