SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Spearfish Sasquatch add on three athletes to the 2018 inaugural season roster. Juniors Caden Goldy and Trent Schulte will leave the west coast to play for the Blue and Silver. Freshman pitcher Steven Dennis is another Texas native headed to Spearfish.

 

Goldby is a six-foot junior outfielder from Yuba, Cali.  He is the son of Scott and Kristi Goldby and brother to Cooper.  His brother Cooper played collegiate baseball and is playing within the Oakland A’s organization as a catcher.  In 2016 he was a part of the NJCAA baseball national championship team at Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ.  Goldby will attend Lewis Clark State University as a transfer and study general business with a minor in communications.

 

Schulte is a five-foot-ten junior pitcher from Bainbridge Island, Wash.  He is the son of Aaron and Shayna Schulte and brother to Kaylen, Ethan and Tessa.  His brother Ethan will be attend Whitworth University to play baseball as a freshman in the 2019 season.  Schulte was named Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League All-Star in Syracuse, N.Y. for his summer team in 2017.  He is majoring in business administration at Gonzaga University with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship.

 

Dennis is a six-foot left-handed freshman pitcher from College Station, Texas.  He is the son of Steve and Deb Dennis and brother to Donald and Bethany.  His grandfather Don Dennis was the general manager of the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks summer collegiate baseball team and founder of the Alaska baseball league.  Dennis plays for Northwest Nazarene University and is majoring in kinesiology and accounting.

 

The Sasquatch are scheduled to open against Souris Valley Sabre Dogs at Black Hills Energy Stadium on May 25 at 7:05 p.m.
