As a true freshman, Brett Nearing appeared in 19 games for the Grand Valley State University Lakers. Over those 19 appearances, Brett compiled a 4-0 record and recorded 15 strikeouts in his 22.0 innings of work. he finished his freshman campaign with an ERA of 4.09. Unfortunately, injuries cost Brett his sophomore year and after receiving a medical redshirt he has returned healthy and will be counted on to be an important part of the Laker pitching staff.
