Herd Re-Sign Veteran Catcher Andrew Mercier

BURLINGTON, ON – The Burlington Herd, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announce today the signing on veteran catcher Andrew Mercier for the 2018 season.

Mercier, a London, Ontario native returns to the Herd for his second season after posting a .265 batting average with five RBI and a home run through forty-nine at bats.

The two-year professional spent time with the London Monarchs of the CanAm League and Quebec Capitales of the Northeast League between 2003 and 2004.

“Veteran of the Fontier and CanAm leagues, Andrew brings an unmatched level of experience as well as leadership” said Herd Director of Baseball Operations Jason McKay.

“The Herd will be looking forward to both on and off field contributions as he fulfilled many roles last season.” 

The Burlington Herd are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League.
