Herd Welcome Back Ross as Vice-President of Player Personnel

BURLINGTON, ON – The Burlington Herd, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) are pleased to announce the hiring of former General Manager Allan Ross as Vice-President of Player Personnel.

Allan returns to the Herd with significant, high-level experience in sports. Allan, a resident of Burlington Ontario is a retired VP., Risk Management at Citibank. He has over a half century of baseball involvement in Canada particularly in Quebec and Ontario., including ownership, coaching and managing teams at various levels of competition. In addition to having coached provincial champion rep teams in Quebec and Ontario, he has served terms as General Manager of the Hamilton Cardinals(IBL) Brantford Red Sox (IBL) and Hamilton Thunderbirds(IBL) and most recently the Burlington Bandits (Herd).

“We are very excited and are very fortunate to have Allan back with our organization this season” said Herd President Ryan Harrison.

“Allan has a wealth of baseball knowledge, unsurpassed passion for growing baseball in the area and was really instrumental for saving the team during the 2016 season.”

Allan has served with several major league baseball organizations, including Pittsburg Pirates, Anaheim Angels, with over twenty five years scouting experience and since 2009 through present is an assistant to Mr. Steve Oleschuck, Arizona Diamondbacks Scout for Eastern Canada, particularly in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.

Currently Allan serves as an instructor with Bullett Prospects North in Guelph.

The Burlington Herd are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
