We are pleased to announce the PIHL Players of the Month for October

AAA-North Allegheny-Bernardo Vieira

Senior defenseman and team Captain, Vieira led the team with 6 points (all assists) in the first 3 games of the 2017-18 campaign helping lead N.A. to a 2-0-1 start. Bernardo also had 0 PIMS in those first 3 games. Head Coach, Mike Bagnato, said about Vieira, “he plays strong d and moves the puck to our forwards up ice.”

Varsity AA – Nick Lindauer – Pine-Richland

As a junior forward, Nick amassed 13 points in just the first 4 games (8g, 5a)!  He was the AA leader in points for the month and of those 8 goals, 2 were special teams-1 power play and 1 shorthanded. About Nick, Head Coach Jim Black said, “Nick is a quiet, hard working player that does whatever is asked of him. Just a super kid that leads by example.”

Varsity A – Jeremiah Brozovic – West Allegheny

Sophomore goaltender who in his first 3 games played, earned 3 wins with 153 minutes played, allowing 7 goals off 86 shots faced while also adding 1 assist!  Attributing the team’s success in large part to Jeremiah, Head Coach, Brian Boehm said, “JB posted a .918 save percentage in the month of October and has helped pace our young team to a 3-0 start.”

Varsity D2 – Lukas Konecsni – Moon

Also a sophomore goaltender who in his first 4 games played, earned 4 wins while playing 208 minutes, allowing 8 goals off 109 shots faced. Impressed greatly by the success of Lukas, Head Coach, Joe Sell had this to say, “he was the difference in each of our first 4 games played. He had the most wins, lowest goals against average, and highest save percentage in the month of October”.

NOTE- All players selected for Player of the Month will receive tickets and be recognized at the Monday November 27th Pittsburgh Penguins home game vs. the Philadelphia Flyers!
