Eden Prairie Heads to State

The Eden Prairie Senior Legion team captured the Substate 3 championship and and earned a berth to the 2017 American Legion Baseball State Tournament.  By defeating Edina Post 471 by a score of 13-3 in seven innings, Eden Prairie qualified for the state tournament for the 11th time since 2004.  

It has been a successful campaign for Eden Prairie and they capped it off with a 4-1 campaign at the substate tournament. Wins over Holy Angels (4-0), Chanhassen (5-0), Edina (11-1), and Edina (13-3) in the finals. Their lone loss came to Chaska in game 13 by a score of 12-11 that set up their final round winner-take-all game with Edina.

Eden Prairie will open the state tournament on Friday, July 28th against Substate 11 winner St. Michael at Siebert Field on the campus of the University of Minnesota.  Should they win, Eden Prairie will return to action at Seibert at 7pm and if they lose, game two would be at 4pm at Siebert.
