Excelsior Senior Legion 2019 State Champions

Eden Prairie Legion 2 was swept in a double header on Saturday against the Bismarck Governors. Eden Prairie fell in game one by a score of 4-3 in eight innings and dropped the nightcap by the score of 4-1.
The Eagles were paced offensively by Ben Heisserer who was 2-3 with a go ahead rbi single in the top of the seventh. Eden Prairie was unable to hold a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh. The Governors plated individual runs to tie and win the game in the seventh and eighth innings. Garrett Varden gave the Eagles six plus innings of work. Cade Hanson took the loss in relief.
Eden Prairie fell behind early in game two, trailing 2-0 after one inning of play. The Eagles got a run back in the fourth inning on a Noah Matousek RBI single. That was as close as they would get to the Governors who plated two additional runs in the fifth inning. Michael Lindell took the loss for the Eagles going five innings before being relieved by Connor Hemme.
Eden Prairie finishes their road trip west with a single game at Detroit Lakes on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
