Eschberger, Muñiz Named Players of the Week

ELKVILLE, Ill. - The Prospect League, in conjunction with Pointstreak and Blue Star Sports, is pleased to name Zach Eschberger (Danville Dans/Henderson State University) and Nelson Muñiz (Terre Haute REX/Southwest Baptist University) as week three Pitcher and Player of the Week

Eschberger, from Tyler, Texas, started and earned the win in Danville’s 7-0 win vs Quincy on June 13. The left-handed pitcher from Henderson State University threw a complete-game shutout, allowed only four hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out 9. Danville currently sits fourth in the Prospect League’s West Division with a 7-9 record through three weeks. 

Muñiz, from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, played in all six games during the week for Terre Haute and hit .458 (11-24) with two home runs, three doubles, and seven RBIs. The infielder from Southwest Baptist University is currently riding a 13-game hit streak. The REX are currently 8-10, third place in the Prospect League’s West Division.
