Royals fall to rivals, 8-1

GUELPH – The top of the Kitchener Panthers' lineup did most of the damage in an 8-1 win over Guelph in a Victoria Day matinee.
Yorbis Borroto and Colin Gordner – one-two in the batting order – each had a pair of hits and combined to drive in five runs. Both players also walked twice and scored once.
Justin Interisano had an RBI, while Terrell Alliman had two hits and drove in a run. Yulexis La Rosa singled twice and scored once, and Mike Andrulis had a pair of runs.
Jasvir Rakkar picked up the win, going five scoreless innings and scattering two hits with seven strikeouts. He didn't issue a walk.
Kitchener improved to 2-1.
Marquis Kidd went 2-for-3 with a run for the Royals, who dropped to 0-2. Chris Nakashima doubled.
On the mound, starter Cam Gray (0-1) gave up three runs on five hits in 1.2 innings.
