AWLers Ryan Fitzgerald and Daniel Delaney have been offered pro contracts with the Gary Southshore RailCats and Schaumburg Boomers respectively.

Fitzgerald, from Burr Ridge, Indiana, played at Creighton University before attending the AWL. The infielder hit .279 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 homerun during the season. In addition, the coaches were very impressed with his glove as he was named the AWL Defensive Player of the Year. Fitzgerald will join AWL staff member and reigning American Association Manager of the Year, Greg Tagert, on the Railcats this season.

Delaney, a catcher out of Thousand Oaks, CA, played at Fresno State, Orange Coast, and Valporaiso before attending the AWL. He proved to be one of the better hitters during the season, finishing with a .355 average, striking out only 2 times in 31 ABs. His efforts were also noticed by Greg Tagert and he was able to parlay that into a contract with the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League.

"Ryan and Daniel are perfect examples of what the Arizona Winter League is all about...an opportunity for a player to showcase himself. What makes both of these players special is their daily commitment and work ethic to get better every day. The RailCats and Boomers are fortunate to have two individuals of tremendous character." - Greg Tagert, Gary Southshore RailCats Manager

Best of luck Ryan and Daniel!
