The PIHL membership for the 2016-17 season will include 65 active associations and 155 teams within the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School divisions. The Divisions will be as follows:

The Varsity Division 1 (Pure Schools) will have three Classes - AAA, AA and A and will be comprised of a total of 45 teams.

The Varsity Division 2 (Co-op Schools) will have two Classes - B and C and will be comprised of a total of 14 teams.

The Junior Varsity Division will have three Tiers - 1, 2, and 3 and will be comprised of a total of 40 teams.

The Middle School Division will also have three Tiers - 1, 2, and 3 and will be comprised of a total of 56 teams.

The Divisional Alignments can be found below be clicking the link. The PIHL Regular season begins on Monday, October 3 and will conclude on Friday, February 24, 2017. The regular season schedule is planned to be announced in early September. There will be a total of 1,269 regualr season games played this year and the PIHL playoffs will begin in early March concluding with the Pens Cup finals on March 21 and 22 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
