Its Game Day: All Star Day Events

Today kicks off MHBL’s 3rd All-Star event. This seasonal event, which will be welcoming returnees as 

well as new comers, will include the league’s most talented players.

 

The 3-point competition (5:00pm)

Paul Blake (North) – He hit an impressive 7-of-11 shots from beyond the arc in the June 6th game vs West 

Bridge, and averages a solid 50% 3-point shooting accuracy.

Marko Curic (Spurs) – Diverse player that can block, dunk, and shoot 3s; he averages 3 to 4 3-pointers 

per game on 43% shooting, and is dangerous when he’s in the zone.

Tamoy Lewis (Peak Canada) – This 2-time player of the week averages 50% from the 3-point range, and 

has been pretty consistent with his shooting throughout the season so far.

Roberts (Woe) is a sniper from beyond the arc averaging 2-3 3-pointers per game on 45% shooting.  

What makes him stand out from the rest is his ability to hit clutch shots under pressure, which has 

helped his team become a top team in the league.

 

The Dunk competition

The guys participating in the dunk-off are no doubt going to put on a show. These high flyers have 

shown us what they can do , and have scored some top plays of the week for some of those dunks. 

Tomorrow will be no different.

The All-Star game

This is going to be a wild game. Both East and West teams are extremely talented with impressive 

averages.

 

East starters: 

Tamoy Lewis (Peak Canada) is already a 2-time player of the week, and has been fire on the court, 

averaging 22.4 points, 4 assists, 2 steals per game. 

Gilbert Gyamfi (Black Mambas) is a monster in the paint. He averages 19.2 points on 73% shooting, 6 

rebounds, and is a vicious blocker and dunker.

Brian Rouse (N.W) is also excellent in the paint; he is an agile player who has no problem going straight 

to the rim for a big dunk. He averages double digit points, and is a key player with offensive boards.

Lewis Diankulu (Ssauga Elite) averages 21.3 points on 63% shooting, and gets at least 1 block per game. 

His inside game will definitely be a threat on his opponents. 

Marko Curic (Spurs) averages 18 points and 5 rebounds. He is a well-rounded player that is definitely an 

asset on the court, specifically in the paint.

Reserves: Eduful (Squad Up), Haroon (Spurs), Iggy (Peak Caanda), C. Diankulu (Ssauga Elite), and Munier 

(Squad Up)

 

West starters:

Tyrell Vernon (Hoyas) has great court vision, and is capable of maximizing his players’ skills. He averages 

18.3 points, 3 rebounds, and dishes the ball excellently.

Paul Watson (Woe) shows great leadership on his team (who have won 4 out of their 5 games), creates 

good court spread, and is a great defensive player.

Michael Hall (West Bridge) is one of the returning all-stars and has shown what he is able to do for his 

team. He averages 13.2 points on 58% shooting, and 2 steals.

Paul Blake (North) was last season’s MVP and is definitely a key player on the court. He scores an 

average of 16.7 points per game, gets 5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.

Alilovic (Monarchs) has a proficient inside game, and averages 17 points on 64% shooting and 5.4 

rebounds (including at least 2 offensive boards) on his undefeated team.

This all goes down Saturday July 4th from 5-7pm at the University of Toronto in Mississauga. You 

definitely do not want to miss out on this exciting Boston Pizza-hosted event. There will be pizza, snacks, 

and drinks, as well as a live DJ spinning all the latest tracks. Bring your friends and come out to support 

the league and its best talent.
