ROBIN BARRETT – VOLUNTEER PROFILE

Current GBMH Position: Off-Ice coordinator for tots and novice divisions, manager of the Pee Wee Girls metro team and Special Events coordinator for GBMH. I have been with GBMH for 7 years now (4 as a manager, first year with special events)

Background: Married to Chris Barrett for 15 years, two children Emma (11) Zackary (8), employed as a casual pharmacist at Medical Hall Pharmasave. Guess I’m a "stay at home" mom who never stays at home. Recently I was hired as a Travel Portfolio Manager specializing in Disney Travel for The Destination Experts. As a Hockey Mom, having never been exposed to hockey as a kid learning how to even put the gear on my 5 year old was a challenge.  I had no idea where anything went.  Now 7 years later I can do it in my sleep.

Favorite Memory in Hockey:  I have never played a day of hockey in my life and probably never should.  I would say my favorite memory is when I see my kids play their heart out no matter whether they win or lose.

My favorite hockey team: Happens to be whatever team my kids play on.

My favorite Player: Sidney Crosby because what he has done for the game locally.  He has given our kids something to dream of.  He is a hero.

Favorite interest (outside the rink): Travelling to Walt Disney World with my family and helping others plan their trips.

Favorite Saying: Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot nothing is going to get better. It's not. ~~ Dr. Seuss

GBMHA is fortunate to have a volunteer like Robin. She is a tireless worker and can be counted on to complete any task at a moment’s notice. We’re very happy to have her involved in GBMH.
