The boys were back in business as the Hungarian national team hit the ice for the first time today since the end of last season. The squad was broken up into three teams where every team played against each other.

As expected not all of the players that were invited to the camp were able to play. Péter Gagyor and Peter Sevela had to miss this week because of illness, while Attila Pavuk picked up an injury this past weekend and Ákos Kiss is missing due to family reasons. Even though they were in the initial roster there was little chance for them to play because of injuries, so István Bartalis, Dániel Kóger, Arnold Varga and Zoltán Hetényi will not be playing training during the week and play at the weekend.

Also missing from the ice was Márton Vas, Csaba Kovács and Viktor Tokaji. Vas got in late Monday night whereas veterans Kovács and Tokaji got a day off.

Assistant coach Gergely Majoross gave a breakdown of what is going on after the first day: "The goal of this camp is to give many guys a chance to show what they got. With an almost 60 person squad is such a large number that the older players have not seen anything like this. It is great to see that there are some real battles, which shows that we have reached our goals. It is good that the guys who have not been in the team are fighting to get in, as the ones inside are feeling the pressure to play better.”
