HUNGARY GETS BACK AT DENMARK FOR LAST SEASON

The coaching duo of Diego Scandella and Gergely Majoross gave Bence Bálizs the start in net with Zoltán Hetényi as the backup. Also getting back into the lineup was Roland Vokla, István Terbócs, Tamás Sárpátki and Áron Könczei. This time getting a rest was Miklós Rajna, János Hári, Bronson Kovács and Chris Bodó.

Hungary opened the game off with a scoring chance by Dániel Kóger. Denmark had an early power play chance which they were not able to capitalize on. Hungary as well did on convert on their man advantage in the first period. The opening twenty minutes was a well balanced fast paced back and forth game of hockey. Denmark had out shot Hungary 13 to 7.

Denmark came out firing on all cylinders and took control of the pace of the game. In the opening minutes of the period Denmark took the lead when Julian Jakobsen skated down low, centered the puck and Stefan Frank tapped it in from the doorstep. Later in the period Gergő Nagy skated in on goal but fired the puck wide. Denmark kept up the pressure on Hungary. However late in the period Tamás Pozsgai fed the puck to Bálint Magosi who put a shot on net as he skated through the slot which was saved, but Dániel Kóger was on the spot to fire the rebound in to make it 1-1.

In the third period Hungary had chances on the power play but were not able to convert on it. The pace of the game was more balanced compared to the previous twenty minutes. Later in the period István Sofron skated in and fired a shot high but the score stayed the same. The teams kept on trying to break the deadlock but were not able to break through. Hungary took their first lead of the game when Brance Orbán sent the puck low to Kevin Wehrs who centered it to Magósi, the Danish goalie made the first save but was not able to stop Krisztián Nagy from scoring his first national team goal when he stuffed in the rebound. In the closing minutes of the game Denmark pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. János Vas scored the empty netter to make the final 3-1.
