Here is a running summary of all our fun:
Firstly our once the Eagle’s hit the ice for the pre-game warm-up our Glace Bay Pee Wee Metro 2 team was invited to stand on their bench to witness their skate. During this activity the Metro PW players got to see first-hand how the Eagles conduct their pre-game drills. A few Eagle players dropped by the bench to say hello to the team which was really appreciated.
At the end of the rink our Glace Bay Miner Atom Female team received a once-in-life-time to tag the CB Screaming Eagles with a “high-five” during the player introductions. This was a great hit among the girls for sure.
Next on the agenda our Breagh Kelly was introduced by the public announcer to sing “O’Canada”. Breagh, did us proud by doing a great job on singing our anthem and received a very nice applause from the highly appreciative audience in attendance.
Before the game started, Sean Burke was invited to center-ice for the official game face-off. Sean who was representing our GBMHA dropped the puck between Eagle’s captain Stephen Woodsworth and visiting Rampart “C” Ryan Culkin.
Then in the game’s 2nd intermission four of our Pee Wee Metro Boys were entered into a centre ice fun bowling contest on sleds, which proved to be very entertaining and the boys received some nice prizes for their competitive efforts.
Finally following the game our Glace Bay Atom “A” and Atom “Metro 2” teams got to meet the Eagles and captain Colton Deering had a special experience having his picture taken with Eagle’s captain Woodworth.
GBMH members, parents, family and friends attended the Night @ The-Nest last Wednesday evening as "Special Guests" of the Screaming Eagles. The Event was a HUGE success!!! Our Special Event Co-ordinator Angela Battitse stated that the “the Eagles organization involved GBMH in every activity and truly made us feel "Special."
