Rittner Buam erases deficit to stun SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan, 4-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, Rittner Buam battled back to claim a 4-2 victory over SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan.

Rittner Buam let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. Rittner Buam took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Fabian Ebner at 12:31 in the first period. Rittner Buam found itself down 3-1 after SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan's Simon Baur put the puck home at 8:42 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Christian Borgatello at 31 seconds in the third, Rittner Buam got the game-winner from Brad Cole at 16:39 in the third period.

Borgatello was all over the ice for Rittner Buam, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win.

Rittner Buam got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Rittner Buam struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

Rittner Buam also got a goal from Dan Tudin as well. More assists for Rittner Buam came via Simon Kostner, who had two and Mark Van Guilder, who had three.

The defensemen of SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan were also effective in Rittner Buam's zone, and came away with two goals. SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.
