Simon Kostner scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Rittner Buam picked up the extra point in a 3-2 (3-1 SO) win over SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan.

The two teams needed nine turns to complete the shootout. SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan's shootout goal was scored by Rupert Stampfer. In addition to the clincher, Rittner Buam got shootout goals from Luca Ansoldi and Kostner.

Rittner Buam came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Rittner Buam was down 2-0 after a goal by SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan's Adam Hughesman at 15:39 in the first period. Rittner Buam knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Dan Tudin at 13:22 in the second period.

Rittner Buam put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan to score on any of its three power plays.

Rittner Buam also got a goal from Ivan Tauferer as well. In addition, Rittner Buam received assists from Julian Kostner, Christian Borgatello, Ansoldi, and Thomas Spinell, who contributed one each.

SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan was led by Jason Walters, who finished with one goal and one assist. Walters scored 7:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan. More assists for SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan came via Stampfer, who had one.

Rittner Buam's Andrew Engelage stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Rittner Buam incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mark Demetz rejected 36 shots on goal for SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan. SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
