Allen rolls over Quad City, 6-1

The Allen Americans had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Quad City Mallards.

Allen evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven.

The Americans' Bryan Pitton was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. Pitton certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.94 entering the contest.

Allen was led by Bruce Graham, who had one goal. Graham scored on the power play 15:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Allen. The Americans had gained a power play chance when Tyler Yaworski was whistled for roughing. Darryl Bootland provided the assist.

Allen also got points from Tyler Ludwig, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brian McMillin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Greger Hanson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Allen included Spencer Asuchak and Jonathan Lessard, who scored one goal each. More assists for Allen came via Daniel Tetrault, Jonathon Zion, and Ross Rouleau, who contributed one each and Anthony Maiani and Alex Lavoie, who each chipped in two.

Quad City's offense rang up 33 shots on Allen's net.

The Americans totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-6 on the power play. The Mallards' starting goalie, Thomas Heemskerk, made 20 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ty Rimmer, who stopped three shots. Quad City totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
