Rapid City survived a determined comeback attempt by the Quad City Mallards on the way to a 2-1 win. Rapid City took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Quad City storm back on a Jordan Mayer goal 18:55 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Rapid City evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven. Rapid City was led by Scott Wray, who tallied one goal. Wray scored 9:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Rapid City. Scott Brannon provided the assist. Anthony Perdicaro also scored for Rapid City. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Riley Weselowski, Eric Giosa, and Kyle Stroh, who contributed one each. The Mallards' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Rapid City power plays. Quad City relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Matt Boyd, Jeff Lee and Mayer took 10 of the team's 19 shots. In addition, Quad City received assists from Thomas Frazee, who had one. Tim Boron made 18 saves for Rapid City on 19 shots. Rapid City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ty Rimmer rejected 27 shots on goal for the Mallards. Quad City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
