The Brampton Beast had trouble finding ways to stop the Allen Americans, which beat Beast, 4-1. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Brampton faces elimination next time out. Allen was led by goalie Bryan Pitton, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Pitton certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.01 entering the contest. The Americans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Brampton power plays. Allen's offense rang up 36 shots on the Beast's net. The Americans were helped by Darryl Bootland, who finished with two goals. Bootland scored the first of his two goals at 17:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Daniel Tetrault picked up the assist. Bootland's next tally made the score 3-1 Allen with 13:59 left in the second period. Allen earned a power play opportunity when Tylor Michel was put in the box for slashing. Jonathon Zion provided the assist. Allen also got points from Greger Hanson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Bruce Graham, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Jamie Schaafsma, who had one and Anthony Maiani, who had two. Brampton forced the Americans goalie Pitton to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Beast were led by Scott Howes, who scored the team's only goal. Howes scored 2:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen. Allen totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Kristofer Westblom made 32 saves for Brampton on 35 shots. The Beast ended with 27 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
