Missouri blows out Quad City, 5-2

The Missouri Mavericks were firing on all cylinders against the Quad City Mallards, and when the final buzzer sounded Mavericks emerged with a 5-2 win.

Missouri was paced by Henrik Odegaard, who finished with one goal. Odegaard scored 1:30 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. Mike Ramsay assisted on the tally.

The Mavericks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Quad City to score on any of its four power plays. The defensemen of Missouri were also effective in the Mallards' zone, and came away with three goals.

Missouri additionally got points from Anders Franzon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Tyler Currier, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Missouri included Dave Pszenyczny and Evan Vossen, who scored one goal each. More assists for Missouri came via Sebastien Thinel, who had two and Trevor Kell, Matt Stephenson, and Andrew Courtney, who each chipped in one.

Quad City's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 12 shots on net during the game.

The Mallards were helped by Gabriel Levesque, who registered one goal. Levesque scored 19:47 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Missouri. Gergo Nagy picked up the assist. Vladimir Nikiforov also scored for Quad City. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Michael Monfredo and Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel, who contributed one each.

Shane Owen made 25 saves for the Mavericks on 27 shots. Missouri totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Ty Rimmer recorded 24 saves for Quad City. The Mallards ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
