The Tulsa Oilers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Wichita Thunder held on for a 3-2 victory. A goal by Mike Wilson put Wichita up 3-1 in the third period, but Tulsa pulled to within one on Adam Pleskach's tally 15:56 into the third period. The Thunder were sparked by Wilson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Wilson scored on the power play 13:59 into the third period to make the score Wichita. A tripping penalty on Craig Cescon had put Wichita on the power play. Matt Summers assisted on the tally. Wichita also got points from Tomas Klempa, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Wichita also got a goal from Erick Lizon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Nick McParland, RG Flath, and Andrew Martens, who each chipped in one. Tulsa additionally got points from Nathan Lutz, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ben Gordon, who had one and Todd Robinson, who had two. Taylor Nelson recorded 26 saves for the Thunder. Wichita incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Shane Madolora made 20 saves for the Oilers on 23 shots. Tulsa incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
