Gale's big game bests Missouri in 6-2 Denver win

The Missouri Mavericks had trouble finding ways to stop the Denver Cutthroats, which beat Mavericks, 6-2.

AJ Gale had one goal and three assists to lead Denver. Gale scored 4:36 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Denver. Garett Bembridge assisted on the tally.

The Cutthroats found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Denver averages 3.1 goals per contest. The Cutthroats put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.9 they average per game.

Denver additionally got points from Troy Schwab, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Bembridge, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Denver also had goals scored by Vincent Arseneau, Kyle Fletcher, and Mikael Tam, who scored one goal each. More assists for Denver came via Lee Moffie, Sean Zimmerman, TJ Fox, and Aaron MacKenzie, who each chipped in one.

Denver was unable to stop Missouri from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mavericks eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Missouri was helped by Sebastien Thinel, who grabbed one goal. Thinel scored 6:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Denver. Eric Castonguay picked up the assist. Missouri also got a goal from John-Scott Dickson as well. In addition, Missouri received assists from Obi Aduba and Colten Hayes, who contributed one a piece.

Kent Patterson made 41 saves for the Cutthroats on 43 shots. Denver totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Shane Owen took the loss and made 29 saves before being replaced by Erno Suomalainen who made two saves. The Mavericks totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
