Missouri downs Quad City, 5-2

Obi Aduba finished with one point to lead the Missouri Mavericks to a 5-2 victory over the Quad City Mallards.

In the losing effort, Quad City was led by Gabriel Levesque, who registered two goals and one assist. Levesque scored the first of his two goals at 5:33 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Levesque's next tally made the score 3-3 with 2:23 left in the third period. A unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Matt Stephenson had put the Mallards on the power play. Nicholas Rioux picked up the assist.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 35 shots on target during the contest, Missouri exceeded the 28.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Missouri additionally got points from Anders Franzon, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Eric Castonguay, who also had one goal and one assist, and Mike Ramsay, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Dave Pszenyczny also scored for Missouri. In addition, Missouri received assists from Trevor Kell, who had one and Sebastien Thinel, who had three.

Quad City managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Mallards finished below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Quad City failed to reach its usual level of shot production, putting 18 pucks on goal after averaging 27.3 shots per game this season. The Mallards' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put eight shots on net during the game.

Quad City also got a goal from Matt Boyd as well. More assists for Quad City came via Darren McMillan and Jeff Lee, who contributed one a piece.

The Mavericks' Shane Owen stopped 16 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Missouri incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Thomas Heemskerk rejected 30 shots on goal for Quad City. The Mallards registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
