Arizona beats St. Charles 3-0 as Engelage gains shutout

Andrew Engelage recorded a shutout against the St. Charles Chill as the Arizona Sundogs picked up a 3-0 win.

Arizona was paced by Paul McIlveen, who grabbed one goal. McIlveen scored on the power play 18:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. The Sundogs had taken the advantage when St. Charles' Martin Hlinka got sent off for tripping. Brandon Coccimiglio provided the assist.

Arizona's offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.0 shots per game it averages.

Arizona also got points from Coccimiglio, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Arizona also got a goal from Ian Schultz as well. In addition, Arizona received assists from Bryan Cameron and Alex Velischek, who contributed one a piece.

The Chill did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Charles puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Chill exceeded the 18.2 shots they average per game this year.

St. Charles was led by John Snowden, who took seven shots.

Andrew Engelage made 30 saves for the Sundogs on 30 shots. Arizona totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Robert Moss rejected 24 shots on goal for the Chill. St. Charles totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
