St. Charles falls to Rapid City after surprising comeback

Rapid City climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the St. Charles Chill, 4-3.

Rapid City let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. Rapid City took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Kyle Stroh at 14:57 in the first period. Rapid City went down 3-1 after St. Charles' Andrew Conboy put the puck home on the power play at 17:37 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Winston Day Chief at 17:12 in the third, Rapid City got the game-winner from Day Chief at 19:02 in the third period.

By firing 35 shots on goal, Rapid City exceeded the 28.9 shots it averages per game this year.

Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Eric Giosa, who had one, Jesse Schultz, who had three, and Konrad Reeder and Sean Erickson, who contributed two a piece.

The Chill put 25 shots on net during the contest, more than the 19.4 they average per game.

St. Charles was helped by Kyle OKane, who registered two goals and one assist. OKane scored the first of his two goals at 7:02 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nicklas Lindberg assisted on the tally. OKane's next tally made the score 2-1 St. Charles with 6:06 left in the second period. Jordan Fox picked up the assist.

Tim Boron rejected 22 shots on goal for Rapid City. Rapid City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Robert Moss made 31 saves for the Chill on 35 shots. St. Charles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
