The Wichita Thunder had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers.

Wichita's offense was sparked by Jon Booras, as he ended with four assists in a victory against Tulsa.

The Thunder stifled the Oilers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Wichita put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.6 it averages per game. The Thunder surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Wichita averages 3.0 goals per game. The Thunder's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Wichita additionally got points from Jesse Dudas, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Ian Lowe, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Matt Robinson, who also had two goals and one assist, and Dustin Donaghy, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Wichita included Nick McParland and Matt Summers, who each put in one. Taylor Nelson rejected 25 shots on goal for the Thunder. Wichita incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Shane Madolora took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Alex Dupuis who made 14 saves. Tulsa incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
