Brampton's Fournier deadly on offense in 6-2 win against Allen

Andrew Fournier had two goals to lead the Brampton Beast to a 6-2 victory over the Allen Americans.

Fournier's tallies came at 3:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brampton and on the power play 7:39 into the first to make the score 2-0 Brampton.

Brampton's penalty kill excelled, as the Beast gave up zero goals despite allowing 11 power plays.

Brampton was often in penalty trouble, totaling 16 minors and one major for 57 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 25.0 minutes per game the Beast had been spending in the box. Brampton stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Beast surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Brampton averages 2.9 goals per contest.

Brampton additionally got points from Rob Collins, who also registered one goal and two assists, Matt Caruana, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Jamie VanderVeeken, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Calin Wild also scored for Brampton. In addition, Brampton received assists from Scotty Howes, who had two and Tylor Michel and Tyler Butler, who each chipped in one.

The the Americans penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 13 minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. Allen surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. The Americans put 45 shots on net during the contest, more than the 31.5 they average per game.

Allen was led by Spencer Asuchak, who dished out two assists.

The Beast's Grant Rollheiser stopped 43 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Brampton registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. The Beast ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Michel was ejected from the game. Mark Guggenberger rejected 20 shots on goal for the Americans. For Allen, Darryl Bootland was ejected from the game.
