The Missouri Mavericks' Rob Kleebaum had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Allen Americans. Kleebaum scored at 5:35 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Missouri and again while 15:45 into the third to make the score 5-2 Missouri.Allen's power play was ineffective against Missouri's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Mavericks' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.4 shots per game they average. Missouri also got points from Trevor Kell, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Mike Ramsay, who also registered one goal and one assist. Saverio Posa also scored for Missouri. More assists for Missouri came via Anders Franzon, Dave Pszenyczny, Obi Aduba, Matt Stephenson, Andrew Courtney, and Sebastien Thinel, who contributed one a piece. The Americans forced Missouri goalie Joe Howe to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Allen was led by John Snowden, who finished with one goal and one assist. Snowden scored 53 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Missouri. Spencer Asuchak picked up the assist. Allen also got a goal from Darryl Bootland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Alex Lavoie and Jamie Schaafsma, who each chipped in one. Howe recorded 33 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Americans' Mark Guggenberger stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Allen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
