The Tulsa Oilers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Arizona Sundogs on the way to a 4-3 win.

Tulsa took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Arizona storm back on a Travis Ouellette goal 18:21 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Oilers got the win thanks to a great game by B Macaulay, who had one goal and two assists. Macaulay scored on the power play 11:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Tommy Maxwell had put Tulsa on the power play. Drew Fisher assisted on the tally.

The Oilers forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. Tulsa surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. The Oilers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Arizona power plays. Tulsa's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 10 shots.

Tulsa additionally got points from Fisher, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Tulsa included Jake Obermeyer and Alexandre Beauregard, who each put in one. More assists for Tulsa came via Ryan Menei, Adam Pleskach, Todd Robinson, and Ryan Cramer, who each chipped in one.

The Sundogs were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. Arizona had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Sundogs relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Paul McIlveen, Kevin Baker and Bryan Cameron took 20 of the team's 33 shots.

Arizona also got points from Ouellette, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Arizona received assists from Jordan Clendenning, who had two and Garrett Clarke and Andrew Eastman, who contributed one a piece.

Shane Madolora made 30 saves for the Oilers on 33 shots. Tulsa registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Arizona's Andrew Engelage stopped 18 shots out of the 22 that he faced. For the Sundogs, Alex Tuckerman was ejected from the game.
