Pleskach's big game bests Allen in 10-8 Tulsa win

The Tulsa Oilers' Adam Pleskach had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 10-8 win over the Allen Americans.

Pleskach got on the scoresheet 3:49 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:06 into the second, at 15:11 into the second, and at 16:11 into the second.

Tulsa led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Oilers' Todd Robinson's scored on the power play at 19:08 in the second period to put Tulsa up 8-4.

Allen was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Oilers were able to score five times while on the power play.

Tulsa was often in penalty trouble, totaling 14 minors and three majors for 63 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game the Oilers had been spending in the box. Tulsa found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Oilers have scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Tulsa relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Pleskach, Robinson and Ben Gordon took 22 of the team's 41 shots.

Tulsa also got points from Gordon, who also grabbed one goal and four assists, Robinson, who also registered two goals and five assists to lead the team in points, B Macaulay, who also had one goal and one assist, and Michel Beausoleil, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Kyle Bochek also scored for Tulsa. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Macaulay Macaulay, who had two and Eric Tallent and Brandon Coccimiglio, who contributed one a piece.

The Americans forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and four majors for 58 minutes in penalty time. Allen surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. The Americans bested their season scoring average. This season, Allen averages 3.7 goals per contest. With 35 shots on target during the contest, the Americans exceeded the 28.2 shots they average per game this year.

Allen was led by Alex Lavoie, who grabbed three goals and two assists. Allen additionally got points from Phil Fox, who also registered one goal and two assists. Allen also had goals scored by Kale Kerbashian, who had two and Spencer Asuchak and Corey Tamblyn, who scored one goal each. More assists for Allen came via Trevor Ludwig, who had three, Garrett Klotz and Jarret Lukin, who each chipped in one, and Gregor Hanson and John Snowden, who contributed two a piece.

The Oilers' Shane Madolora stopped 27 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Bryan Pitton took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by David Brown who made 19 saves. The Americans registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. Allen ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Darryl Bootland was ejected from the game.
