Johan Ryd scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Arizona Sundogs picked up the extra point in a 3-2 (2-1 SO) win over the Quad City Mallards.

The two teams needed 14 turns to complete the shootout. Quad City's shootout goal was scored by Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel. In addition to the clincher, Arizona got a shootout goal from Jason Morgan.

Morgan had a great game for the Sundogs, netting two goals. Morgan scored at 6:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona and again while short handed 8:58 into the first to make the score 2-0 Arizona.

Arizona pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 27 penalty minutes.

The Sundogs put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.1 they average per game.

More assists for Arizona came via Alex Tuckerman, who had one and Paul McIlveen, who had two.

The Mallards put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Arizona to score on any of its five power plays.
