Bembridge leads Denver over Quad City, 3-0Denver Coliseum Fri, Nov 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Garrett Bembridge, who had two goals and one assist, the Denver Cutthroats defeated the Quad City Mallards, 3-0. Bembridge's tallies came on the power play at 1:59 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Denver and 9:12 into the third to make the score 2-0 Denver.Denver was boosted by Kieran Millan, who turned in a shutout with 30 saves. Millan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.94 prior to the game. The Cutthroats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Quad City to score on any of its five power plays. The Mallards were unable to stop Denver from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cutthroats eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Denver also got a goal from Michael Schumacher as well. More assists for Denver came via Troy Schwab, who had two and A.J. Gale, who had three. Quad City did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Mallards put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Quad City's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Mallards finished with 21 penalty minutes. Quad City was led by Thomas Frazee, who took five shots. Denver totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. The Mallards' Ty Rimmer stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced.
